George H.V. Cecil Journey Scholarship

journey_logoOne of the greatest joys we have is to see the youth in our community succeed in having the opportunity to attend college.  Of course, the journey to pursue a higher education can be expensive, so scholarships become necessary. WNC Communities is honored to be the custodians of the George H.V. Cecil Journey Scholarship program.

This scholarship was established to grant scholarships to high school seniors in western North Carolina planning to further their education at a 2 or 4 year institution.  The primary criteria for consideration of this scholarship are youth that excel in academic ability and achievement, have exceptional character and are involved in outstanding contributions to school and community. Applicants must be a member of one of the communities active in our WNC George H.V. Cecil Honors Awards Program.
