Agricultural Hall of Fame 2019 Inductee Theron Larnce Maybin Sr.

Henderson County agribusiness leader Theron Larnce Maybin Sr., fondly remembered as a “tremendous ambassador for agriculture,” was inducted into the Western North Carolina Agricultural Hall of Fame.

At noon on May 17, WNC Communities held the 29th annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Mountain Horticulture Crops Research & Extension Center in Mills River.  The annual event recognizes stewards of the region’s agribusiness sector and honors the visionaries and leaders of the agriculture industry.

At a time when Western North Carolina is seeking to strengthen its economic sustainability, WNC Communities recognizes those who have made significant contributions to one of the state’s most important sources of revenue.  Maybin’s many and varied contributions to his community and to WNC agriculture earned him the honor of being inducted into the 2019 WNC Agricultural Hall of Fame.
